Tim is a very giving person, having served on many boards in the community. He coached and served on the Crest Hill baseball board for years. He was also a very important part of the success of the Chaney Monge Parent Athletic Association, founded by a group of parents to provide a sports program in the school that had previously been removed. Tim sat on the sports board for 8 years, during which he coached: baseball, football, volleyball, and basketball and helped bring 2 conference titles to the school. Tim also made many contributions, from design to performance, to the association’s major fundraiser, “Ghouls by the Pool.”
Tim is also an active member of the South Side Civic Club, and belongs to a Relay for Life team. Tim Hutten has given so much to the community, school, and more importantly, to the students that he coached. It is time for us to give back to him. He needs our help to battle his toughest opponent and we can help him bring home one more trophy: Life, and the peace of mind that he will have heat and a home to come back to after his treatments.
Tim is battling stage 4 Melanoma. He is receiving a new treatment at Northwestern Hospital called interleukin therapy. This is not an easy process, as he is in and out of intensive care for a week at a time. This has made Tim very weak and unable to work and because he has no disability insurance, it is putting a great deal of financial and emotional strain on his family. Tim has a wife Rose, daughter Annie, and sons Andrew and Adam. Adam is currently serving in the United States Army.
